October 15, 20178 yr I think this is connected to the coolant bypass and seems to contain a spring. Could it regulate pressure? https://www.amazon.com.au/clouddrive/share/rwswVE7EgA62Soc3jOMegJ0TGIW5MdRlvtAlHbAVYWF
October 15, 20178 yr I think it is a valve that heats up and allows coolant to flow/or stop flowing to the carb.
October 15, 20178 yr I think it is a valve that heats up and allows coolant to flow/or stop flowing to the carb. It's thermovalve that was used on the EA81 manifolds. It's between the Intake coolant passage and the heater core return. It can be eliminated and use just a elbow or bendable hose to complete the connection.
October 15, 20178 yr Author Thanks to you both. I bypassed it and it’s back running like a dream but I’ve heard that if eliminated it can cause rising temps?
October 16, 20178 yr Author Further to my previous reply. I live in Queensland Australia where the avg daytime temp is mid 20 celcius in winter and high 20’s in Summer so I’m inclined to block the water passage rather than bypass it. Any thoughts?
