October 17, 20178 yr Vehicle is a 91 Brumby. Tried rockauto and cardmon but no dice. Neither had any stock. Are these still available from subaru ? Cheers Richo. Edited October 17, 20178 yr by Knucklehead Saloon
October 17, 20178 yr Autobarn can usually source them. Protex or Protek brand, not sure of the part number but I can source that for you tomorrow if that helps. Passed through Singleton the day before the big truck incident last week, not sure but I will possibly be down that way for work in the near future. If all else fails I'll let you know if I happen to be passing through there again and I'll drop a set off for you. Cheers, Al
October 19, 20178 yr be cautious when buying the rears, on some models (mine) the axles dont come with the stub that goes through the bearing, only the cv joints between the stub and the rear end. they are often hard to get out so dont sledge it out thinking that the new one will have the stub and splines. I did this on one of mine, luckily the machine shop was able to save 3/4 of the threads so I could keep using it.
October 20, 20178 yr Author Djellum: thanks for the heads up mate. Luckily I havnt removed mine yet, I make it a habit to only switch out parts after I've got the new ones in my hand. Too often in the past I've been caught out with wrong / incomplete / broken in transit parts turning up. As an aside, Over the years I've had brand new plugs that were cracked, new leads that were shot, new carbs with spoob in the float bowl, etc etc. Then spent hours and hours trying to track down faults while assuming the new bits were A-OK. These days I measure and inspect everything before it goes onto the bike/ car. Cheers.
