Hello everyone, I have an EZ30D in my 02 LL Bean I’ve been trying to work the kinks out on.

 

Here’s the problem, I had tried aftermarket generic vacuum hoses on the air assist lines connecting the two heads/valve covers. Noticed that the front right hose had collapsed and was venting oil vapor onto the engine.

 

I replaced those hoses with new OEM hoses and had discussed it on SubaruOutback.org. Here’s the link.

Was wondering if anyone here knew where the lines connecting the heads go once they enter the heads. Thinking I might have a blockage not allowing the lines to properly vent.

PCV Valve: Stuck? Blocked:

PCV is OEM less than 6 months old, when I get my hoses from the dealer I’ll check it to be sure but I don’t think so.

 

It appeared that the old aftermarket vacuum line was collapsing under vacuum. So the theory was there was a blockage inside the head causing the hose to collapse. But nobody seems to know much in the way it works that I’ve found yet.

 

Best understanding with my collaboration with my people at SubaruOutback.org is that there is a line that connects the two heads and also connects to the fresh air port on the AICV. That line that connects to the AICV draws a vacuum, pulling pressure and gasses from the heads somehow and a blockage somewhere from the breather/vent, wherever that is, would cause the vacuum line to collapse in on its self.

 

Was trying NASIOC and here to see if anybody else might be familiar with how the system works.
