radiator capacity from spec sheets

Featured Replies

Subaru used to specify the capacity of the radiator in the cooling system section with the EA81 and forgot to include it in factory manual for the EA82 likely coz it was less

Anyone have an ej factory manual with that spec please?

Curious to know if legacy radiators greater than ea81 twin cote 1.2 litres

Thanks

Nearly all EJ's are about 1.5 gallons system capacity. 6 cylinder models tend to be closer to 2 gallons.

Capacity isn't all there is to cooling efficiency. It's all about surface area. More modern radiators have smaller tubes and higher fin density.

Yep thanks but I am after the radiator capacity not the cooling system capacity thanks so far

Radiator capacity for a phase 1 EJ is around 3 quarts.

They vary slightly depending on model and engine size.

Quart being quarter of a US gallon of four litres. My gallons are 4.54 litres. Three litres in an ej radiator is a lot!

Thanks for your efforts
