oil leaks on 97 2.5 DOHC

Featured Replies

oil leaking down bottom of both heads, changed cam seals and still leaking .  Looks like maybe leaking from heads, but does not need to be running to leak. any help would be great.  This is a 1997 legacy outback.

+1 on VC gaskets...those half-moons can be a pain to seal.

VCG's, spark plug tube orings/gaskets, cam seals.

maybe the cam seals are leaking again, check to see.

I had an issue like this.  Take a look at the back of the engine.  See if the rear cam plugs are leaking.  They will drip down the rear of the engine making it look like the heads are leaking.
