February 22, 20188 yr I put an LED 31mm bulb into one of the maps lights. It didn't work. Nothing worked. The other map light, the dome light and the cargo light, don't work . Replaced the LED with the OEM bulb. Still nothing works. The keyless fob doesn't work. I can't unlock the car. None of the charts I could download show me where the fuse might be. HELP! February 23, 20188 yr "the fuse for the map lights is #8 in the engine compartment fuse box. It's a 20 Amp fuse that supplies "always on" power to the map lights, the Body Integrated Unit, the keyless entry ("central locking"), theceiling lights, the radio memory (presets), and the clock. So if thefuse is blown, there should be other lights and functions not working."

February 23, 20188 yr LEDs are sometimes problematic in newer vehicles. Revert to your old bulbs, try different LEDs, or try swapping them all but the cargo area light. Edited February 23, 20188 yr by idosubaru
February 23, 20188 yr Unlike an incandescent bulb, the polarity of LEDs matters. If it doesn't work one way, flip it around 180 degrees and install it the other way. The hood release is right around where you left shin is when you're sitting in the car.
February 23, 20188 yr Author I can't get into the car. I'm trying to get the hood open from the outside and not doing too well. Can't get any diagrams.
February 23, 20188 yr Just unlock the door with the key. Surely Subaru didn't get rid of the keyhole... Edited February 23, 20188 yr by 987687
February 23, 20188 yr Author I was too gentle with the key. It needs a quick snap clockwise. I was doing it slowly and that didn't work. Some one from the serves desk came over to my house to help me out. So we got the doors open. We checked for burned out fuses but could not find on. So, I had to go to the dealers. They said it may take hours to fix. I called for a ride back home. As my ride drove into the dealers, the serves clerk came running out to tell me it's fixed. And yes, it was a burned out fuse that we could not see on first inspection. All is well. It's a wasted day if you don't learn anything and this was not one of those days.
