Just needed to hear some words of encouragement. I'm taking the tranny out of my 82 GL/4x4 Wagon. Its slow, and I'm laying in gravel. Nuff said. Its almost out with just the bottom crossmember to remove and bottom bell housing bolts. Everything else is disconnected and tranny drained of fluid.

 

When that's out I'll be in the market for a 4 speed dual range. I guess I should step up the plate and put in the dual range five speed. What year vehicle did they come in?

best bet tog et a 5sp dual range tranny is from a 85/86 wagon, they seemed to have those more so then auto's, but they went from 85 to i think 89 which is when they changed to a push button 4wd.

d/r 5 and s/r started in 85
