June 15, 20196 yr 96 legacy. Both front and rear blinkers on the passenger side are extremely dim. Even the indicator on the dash is very dim. The drive side works just fine. If I turn on the hazards then both indicators in the dash get very dim and same dim blinkers on the passenger side. When the right side are operating it’s sounds normal not too fast, just extremely dim, but the temp gauge will bounce with the blinkers. Does this sound like a ground issue? Any ideas on where to look would be great
June 15, 20196 yr Yes, a ground-issue is definitely a possibility. You could start by removing each bulb in turn, and seeing if the symptoms change.
June 15, 20196 yr one of those sockets has a ground short, probably through a lot of corrosion to provide just enough resistance to not blow the fuse, but enough to draw the volts down.
June 15, 20196 yr Author Well I removed the rear bulb, and this didn’t change anything. Removed the headlight to get to the blinker on the front. I found the harness going to that bulb had become wrapped up and extremely stretched-Pinched on the hood prop rod. So I repaired that section of the harness and all is back to normal. Thanks
