Who owned the powder blue '78 Brat?

Featured Replies

Looking for the past owner of a powder blue '78 Brat which is now in the Lynnwood Pull a Part. Has a canopy and a rectangular white board with the number 50 on it. It was lifted and I suspect someone knows who might have owned it before....maybe Jason? Lots of parts in the back bed as well as an open 3.900 rear diff. Tailgate is pretty good for one that age although it'll be a trick to get it off. Other than that, it looked pretty rough. I pulled the diff that was on it; it's either an LSD:) or a welded rear. In either case, it's saved from the crusher.

Isn't that jason's? the one who busted out the rear DOJ a couple times at evans creek? I dont know his last name. The 50 was on the side covering body rot...?

Kurt, I think you're correct. You're the 2nd person who mentioned Jason. Too bad he's not on the Board anymore and I don't have his number in Aberdeen.

If anyone was planning to lift a gen1 Brat, this is the car to get. Some really good pieces there to salvage and they'd go for a song.

connie actually was the most recent owner, but yes, jason was the one who modd'ed it up... and that is a welded rear !~

for anyone thats interested, it has a working ea81 4spd D/R in it...

Jason designed, built, and installed the 4-5 inch lift in one weekend. Including a d/r tranny swap. That thing did well, but he really has a heavy foot and upper 311 is about as gnarly as trails get at EC. He did break a lot of axles, but the lift held together, but I think the rear suspension punched thru wheel wells. He drove it 75 miles+ home from there with straps holding it all in place. Jason was the original Miles Fox. ;)

He lost interest and began to build his 99 forerunner. It's something else these days, pretty huge. He lives in Forks, WA now.

Someone was obviously interested in the d/r tranny; as of today it's gone.

Dan, Ben and I grabed most of the rear of the lift and also the shifters and the extended steering shaft. Finally got the vent nubbin Ben was missing too!

Good find; I'm glad it went to someone who's willing to use it. Certainly a waste if it went to the crusher. Know anyone who'll make me a good offer on the welded diff?

Dan might be looking for a welded diff. Ben might want to get a front section made for his brat, but for now, the stuff will sit...
