December 12, 20196 yr So I’m new here... looking for info... I have a 2003 legacy L sedan and want a little more height. Have the option to purchase struts from a 2003-08 Forester, wanted to know if that’s a direct bolt in, or if I need to change anything. Also, I’ve noticed people talking about disconnecting sway bar... what about adding a bracket to drop the sway bar 2 inches or so?? Any and all advise appreciated!
December 12, 20196 yr it was a direct bolt in on the earlier 90's cars, but they changed the rear suspension at some point (not sure exactly when) so the rears probably not. I did it with a 95 Legacy and loved it.. only reason to unbolt the sway bar is to make it easier to get the longer strut mounted - once in, the sway bar gets bolted back up. I am sure others with more experience with the 2000+ models will chime in soon.
