September 4, 20205 yr Hello USMB! My choke has zero voltage. Looking at the wiring diagram, I see a 5a automatic choke fuse! Where!?!? Where is it in the car? Edited September 6, 20205 yr by NuclearDeLorean
September 4, 20205 yr i would just run a new wire to it, if i remember correctly, that wire is yellow the one you are talking about, i was getting 7v on mine, made no sense.
September 4, 20205 yr Author I’m about to. Unless I learn it’s inside the FPCU (Fuel Pump Control Unit). If all fuses in the fuse block are 15A or 25a, where is the 5a rando fuse? I’m giving myself 24 hours to locate it
September 4, 20205 yr Author Just learned that the fuse is NOT inside the FPCU. So WHERE IS IT?!?!?!!?!?
September 5, 20205 yr Author I heard a rumor it is behind the glovebox with some other mystery stuff. Going to look and see...
September 5, 20205 yr From poor memory I believe you might find it in line all alone in the engine bay. Passenger side. But my 78 4WD wagon which I’m thinking of had a winch at one time and I may be envisioning that fuse. Not able to recall ever dealing with this 5a fuse. Good luck.
September 5, 20205 yr Author Thank you! I’m going to take a look and see if there is one where you say, I’ve also been turned on to a spot behind the glove box. It’s precisely 150 million degrees outside, but I’ll check when I can!
September 6, 20205 yr Author THERE. IT. IS. And it was blown. So I put a new 5a fuse in and started the car. No blown fuse, maybe my old carb had an issue. I now have 12v going to the electronic choke and I now have a fully open choke when the car is warm. BAM.
