July 9, 200421 yr How much do you think this engine would be worth, it was on here once before and only got up to $202 but didnt meet the reserve. so do you think i should buy it for my 90 subaru loyale. give me any info you can think of.
July 9, 200421 yr Author Sorry:) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7909972886
July 9, 200421 yr Its nice and clean.. more than I can say for mine. These typically go for ~$700 on eBay Just remember that if you are planning on using it in a nonturbo car (you didn't say if your Loyale was turbo or not) You will need the wiring harness, ECU, crossmember and exhaust to go with it. Let me know if you decide to do it. I have some of the parts you will need.
July 9, 200421 yr Author its a non-turbo but i can get the other parts if you dont have any you are willing to part with.
July 9, 200421 yr I have the crossmember and the ECU I have a harness as well, but not sure what kind of shape its in
July 10, 200421 yr I have a crossmember in Washington...I only mention this cause shipping might be spendy:-)
July 12, 200421 yr yeah not to mention the shipping on the motor from texas might be a tad hi as well btw looks like a recently new alternator in the pic
July 12, 200421 yr freight isn't too bad. I had a Saturn engine shipped from New York to Washington, cost about $150.
July 12, 200421 yr I'm interested in what carrier you used, and how you had to arrange to pick it up, etc... You have to have it delivered to a business with a dock right? It seems freight shipping is somewhat of a mystery, but if you got it for $150 all the way across the U.S. the nyou must be doing something right I got the engine out of a wrecking yard in upstate NY. They sent it through one of their local carriers who did not have a route all the way out here. The local carrier forwarded it through yellow freight who brought it out here. Didn't need a dock, but I couldn't have it sent to my house, either. The delivery target has to have truck access (which my house decidedly does NOT). In this case, it went to a local garage where they were doing the motor swap for us (would you believe the thrust bearing died before the original clutch????). Anyway, I recall paying ~$250 for the engine and the whole deal was right around $400. I'll see if I can dig up the original bill of lading.
