2011 Outback - slight hesitation - brief rubbery squeak when driving

Featured Replies

Happens every once in a while and only when driving. Usually at a particular dip in the road on my way to work. The engine hesitates (RPMS drop) for a moment and I can hear a brief squeak or chirp. Doesn't happen often but is increasing in frequency. 2011 Outback Ej25 167k and AT. No engine lights etc. AC is off. Drives 100% otherwise. Any ideas?

odd, not sure about the rpm dip - strange.

I'd inspect the crank pulley - it's 2-piece and there are occasional reports of it separating and squeaking. I'd look for abraded cables/loose electrical connections too. Maybe scan the ECU for pending codes......just some wild ideas.
