I am wondering if a dipstick from an EA82 will work in a EA81? Are they the same length? I believe that the one in my 81 4wd wagon is out of a 87 4wd wagon, it has a yellow handle and I’m not sure to trust the oil reading. Searched the forum and no luck. Thanks.  

From memory the two dipsticks are different. My ‘91 EA81 brumby has a yellow handle on the dip stick. It was industry standard by then no doubt.

Measure your dipstick and we can compare notes - sorry for those with your minds in the gutter

I think I got mine from a EA82 engine, it has a yellow handle also. The original one the handle gets broken off when the spare tire is removed. At the time I just compared mine to the one I pulled out of a wrecked car.
