Check those grounding points and connections! Fixed my A/C

Featured Replies

My beloved touring wagon-1989 GL 4WD.It's the large A/C unit....Hitachi?

It wasn't working and summer was all over us.I saw the collector was a healthy green through the glass.I knew the car hadn't been used "properly"-inlaws were using it-so I took it up to the workhole and went over the connections.

THere was some corrosion in the black round connector that powers the A/C on the tounge.I took a very thin blade flat screwdriver and wrapped it with some 400 grit paper.Got it in there and cleaned it up.Dab some dielectric grease in there and also cleaned up the grounding points on the strut tower and radiator support for kicks.

Bam! Instant relief....shooooooooey!!!!

Cool as a cucumbrrrrrrrrr in CT:cool:

Hope this helps some fellow sufferer.I can't stand the summer heat.

i got an a/c prob as well, but its all electrical so it aint too bad. unfortunately its 115 degrees where i am and i hardly have the time to fix it. guess that means one melted subaru...
