August 2, 200421 yr Just curious about this one? Twice now, after 250 mile or so journey, when I have left the wagon parked up, I returned to find a fresh , clear looking puddle of water around my front wheel. Both journeys were done using the air conditioning at least part of the time. I dont normally use it at all. Does this system vent itself to the ground near the front? Or , mmmm, maybe I have a small dog followin me around. ? They do seem to be attracted to wheels on occasions. I have not lost any fluids , and could not see any obvious leaks.
August 2, 200421 yr Author Thankyou Dr. RX . I can sleep easy now. Not be having bad dreams like radiators with pinhole leaks or Head gasket failures !! I thought it may be the answer, like you said, but wasnt too sure.
August 2, 200421 yr assuming we're talking about the pass side of the car and sort of where the cat is, yes it's just the AC system If you mean the driverside or farther forward/backward, it is most likely something else
August 2, 200421 yr I was embarrased to talk about it till now....... I solved the problem by rigging up some very large "depends" over the front end. No embarrasing leaks anymore!
August 3, 200421 yr Yeah, what is that about? Why is the drain hose bent toward the lower suspension arm? Water runs along this, onto the hub, into the wheel and onto the ground!
August 3, 200421 yr Author its ok.. my car "goes" all the time.. it has a problem control its condensation I am so glad that other people have similar "occurences" . Its not often that Air Conditioning is needed in Scotland-----I suppose it happens due to removing condensation from inside the car on "special" occassions eh??
August 3, 200421 yr Hey, if I ever get over that way, we'll have to get together for some Haggis and Scotch (single malted of course, none of the blended crap). My family immigrated from Scotland in the late 1600's and helped to create the USA.
August 3, 200421 yr Yes, it is just nomal condensation. Where you find puddles will also depend on the surface on which you are parked. As we are on the topic of the ac, run it at the lowest setting at low rpm for a few minutes every month, even during the winter, to circulate the oil in the system and prolong the service life of your ac compressor. Most of you probably already know this.
