August 21, 200421 yr Author not sure yet, but ill check that in the morning if it isnt raining. do you have spark?
August 21, 200421 yr also check the horn fuse, it is possible the horn fuse also powers the ecu. check the other fuses while your at it. can you see if the ecu gives you any codes?
August 21, 200421 yr Author howdy, as some of you may know, i am rebuilding my 86 rx. the car is mpfi turbo checked all the fuses numerous times and the ecu isnt showing any codes. not that i couldtell any way.no flashy light whne test connectors plugged up.
August 21, 200421 yr try your horn and see if it works. the ecu is on the same circuit. i bet you have no spark and no power to the ecu. check and see if you have spark, then report back. you have to do this somewhat sytematically.
August 24, 200421 yr Author well, everything under the hood looks to be in good shape, i thinking that the problem is definatly under the dash. wiring is hell. i really need someone to come and help me.
August 24, 200421 yr This may sound really stupid, but check the battery cables. I had a situation similar to the one you describe and it turned out to be the small wire that attaches to the positive terminal. It had corroded badly and broke off. We reattached it and off my buddy went. It took us two days to figure it out though.
August 24, 200421 yr Author are you getting power at the fuel pump? the pump works when i jump the relay. the relay is fine, its just not getting the signal to turn on, i think. the little wire coming off of the positive side is good. i am running out of ideas. this is why i need someone that knows how to diagnose and fix wiring problem to come over and take a look at the car.
