September 19, 200421 yr hi, my 1991 non-turbo wagon works well but check light on. The trouble code is #45,atmospheric pressure sensor-faulty sensor. So, what's possible reseason for that? I appreciate for kind instruction. I also try to clear the code with battery out and fuse disconnection, neither of such ways work. What's should I do then? guoqing
September 20, 200421 yr The atmospheric sensor is used by the ECU to make changes to fuel mixture as the air pressure changes. This helps when you drive over mountain passes. It sounds like you may need to just replace it. Check the wiring to it first before replacing it, and make sure things are ok there.
November 5, 201312 yr back from the dead... where is the sensor located? is it external (from the ECM) for the ea81 as it is the ea82?
November 7, 201312 yr it is an external sensor. I am not sure where it is on here, been ages since I have seen one. On newer subarus it is on the passenger side strut tower, and has a hose attached to it as it does double duty, on yours I dont remember
November 8, 201312 yr It is not external on the EA82 cars. It's built into the ECU. Turbo models only had a "pressure sensor" but that's really about boost sensing. Not Atmosphere. Latter models do have MAP sensors.....but not in EA82....it's in the ECU.

November 8, 201312 yr and for the ea81t? They have an external sensor for "High Alltitude" and one for Boost pressure.
November 8, 201312 yr hi, my 1991 non-turbo wagon works well but check light on. The trouble code is #45,atmospheric pressure sensor-faulty sensor. Code 45 is not Atmospheric control. Code 45 for a 91 Loyale would be for "kickdown control relay"
