stop leak for diff's?

Featured Replies

my front diff is leaking from the axle seals...any tricks to fixing this without actually getting in there to replace the seals? I haven't seen any diff stop leak products at the store. How heavy can a guy go with the gear oil viscosity?

Yeah, i think you're a little optimistic. if the seals are leaking, few things outside of jb weld are going to help you. even then, you can't put that on moving parts.

as for your gear oil viscosity, i'll ask my father if he knows, but even then, if you have a low (heavy) viscosity, once it heats up, it will still likely leak.

I used STP for engines (really thick) with some success in my my manual trans.
