Vanislru
Well If you like to ski I drive the 400km round trip from the comox valley to Mt.Cain every weekend starting December. The road to the base of the hill is a typical winding coastal 2 lanes and the road up the mountain is one way Up Fri night, Up in the Am down Pm all other times. This road is a rallying dream. Depending what time you go on Fri you may be breakin trail through a few feet of fresh, or if the graders been through and it's a clear night u can wind the gears out in 4 lo and live the dream. Multiple switchbacks, doglegs and straights, 10' plus snow banks and no traffic. Mt. Cain has awesome terrain, backcountry. Think big f'n old growth cedar trees and alpine bowls, Georgia straight one side the Pacific on the other. There's tons of free accomadtion for friends and the attitude is way laid back. Open invatation. Seriously. I'm up for Mainland trips but only if theres the possibiltiy of getting turns in. Ferries are expensive.
