November 12, 200421 yr so I had stuck a battery into my RX a few days ago and cranked it over. Thats all it did since the battery was DEAD! So I hooked Andrew's Dodge up to it and let her charge for a few minutes while I did some last things to get it into more of a running order. Since I was just going to see if it would start, I didn't think I needed to replace the waterpump yet since I currently have broken my bank. So I hooked the tranny cooler lines back up, fixed the cut fuel line, and hoped in. It cranked for a few seconds before I let off of the key. I tried it again and about 6 revs it fired up and ran for about 2 seconds. Granted it was 2 seconds, but this is a nice big step forward on this project. But I need to replace the gas tank and put some good gas in it and it will run hopefully......Now on to get parts!

November 12, 200421 yr sweet! good to hear it's a runner. my '79 wagon i bought recently sat for 7 years, new battery, couple ounces of gas down the carb, whammo! runs like a champ. -mike
November 12, 200421 yr Oh yeah! Always scary the first time you try to start a car you know nothing about. Glad to hear it might actually be a runner, instead of a klunker. Starting to sound more and more like a good score Cab..
November 13, 200421 yr Author :banana: now I got parts being lined up so I can swap in a good gas tank and then also the glass which will be needed but its prolly going to go to a glass shop to get it put in. Then a waterpump and a belt and maybe a tune-up if I can afford it and hopefully, just hopefully, it'll be a decent car to get me around:D

We can work it out on my H/G job I want done. OH derr derr derr <-- rides the short bus to school. I TOTALLY forgot you can do it, sorry Bill. Yeah we can do that. Sounds good to me! Oh and how hard would it be to replace the glass in the hatch? I've like never even looked at it but I want to keep the rear hatch with the spoiler and the wiper. Then after that, we can work out a trade for some body help that it needs 9the dent in the roof and there's a dent right in front of the passenger side tail light on the side). Lemme know man! If possible, maybe I can come out there today after school if you don't have to rush off right away:D
November 15, 200421 yr well depending on the glass it may be easier to swap hatch then re-attach spoiler. Is there a full metal frame around the glass or just a little trim piece?
November 15, 200421 yr Author its got more like a hefty plasic frame since the whole hatch is plastic. It looks like you can just replace the glass. Like I said before, if you can stick around school for a bit while I have Andrew come and get me and I can show you pics of it that I just took:D
