  1. "try taking two at once that are already on the edge of 5 and 7.. Yikes!" Been there done that! They were 7 and 9 when I adopted them into my name, after their Mom and I got married that is. That was 95, I'm now a grandpa and have two more of my own! It's been an adventure that's for sure. Hey anyways I'm down in Laramie WY, probably the closest of anyone. Drop me a line or something. We occasionally go through that way on way back to S.D so I know right where your at.
  2. Ya know if it was about another six weeks later I'd have 4 EA82 wagons you could scavange, Unfortunately the students are working these things over right now so I can't let anything go.
  3. Coming out to Lander again I assume. I'm still here except I moved over the hill in Laramie. Bought a house and closer to work, I've got a 95 2.2 out of an impreza if that works incase the OB dies on ya.
  4. "Hi John!" (group chimes in unison) "Try it, you'll like it" remember little Mikey:rolleyes: Thats the truth, and if it isn't for you oh well. We're all here because they it makes us feel good in one way or another. Its hard to believe, yes but have you seen a common thread yet? Friends. I live out in the middle of nowhere Wyoming and yet folks from 100 miles away that have never seen me or knew me drove on their own $$ to give me a transmission for my car that they didn't need. 91loyale from Conneticut stopped by just to say HI! and then he let me drive his Wagon with a EJ conversion and lift!I have Friends now from the west coast to the east coast( Caboobaroo,Hondasucks, Cheftim, to name a few). We don't descriminate, we're old, we're young, There's Men, There's Women ( I'm already married, but what a cool thought that there are Women who enjoy and can walk the talk as much as any other guy on the board). There is something here that you just have experience for yourselves. By the way since my induction into Subarus ( it started 20 years ago with an X who had a hatch) I have had 2 wagons, 4 brats, and 2 turbo-coupes, and thats just an inkling of what some here have had. So there ya go mt .02:headbang: Subarus Rock
  5. did that tonight:banana: $25 pully and I'm on the road again:burnout: . tomorrow the brats gettin a liilte love too.
  6. simple ? 2 Brats 84 and 85, 1 T-Brat w/auto, 1 non-turbo w/4spd d/r. Are the rear drive shafts same length? I'm having a u-joint issue in the 4spd one and was wanting to put new joints in the T-brat shaft(that one is canalbalized already) then switch shafts out, minimilize down time if ya know what I mean. Anyone know off the top of their head?
  7. Hey Turbone, what was the part# on that qtr glass weatherstrip? could you find it and post it. There's alot of us that have coupes and I would bet that we all could use it.
  8. hey, go to car-part.com. betcha find one somewhere:cool:
  9. when your buddy sends the pictures from a days outing back:eek:
  10. Hey I took my old T-coupe back to South Dakota twice approx 700miles one way and loaded to the gills. First time no issues except for when kid crashed it in the city second time we ran into some hesitation issues after the 550 mark. Mileage ran at about the 22 mpg the whole way on an auto, the D/R may give you a little but the load (3 adults plus gear) will most likely put you around 18 if I had to guess. Find a slim electric fan if the car has only 1 and take off the clutch fan and just wire the slim on constant with the ignition. I had that set up after the kid crashed it first time, never overheated at all, and we ran in the dead heat of July last time.
  11. those weren,t H alloys? the're the 4 spoke version that came on all t-coupes . And check with Caboobaroo, he has the tranny you want, and he's wanting to sell it.
  12. hey Sam. Slow down a bit. Biggest reason most of this happened was because of a forward moving accident i.e. this happened as the car was moving in a forward motion. In order to remove damage it must me pulled out. You've got alot of ambition but pushing and pulling side to side and up and down wil get you nowhere. 400.00 bucks for an inexperienced bodyman is not bad to pay someone else to get frame staight. damage in, damage out is the rule of thumb. if your going to do it yourself, set up a way to pull the frame rail forward AS your pushing and pulling, you'll get much better results.
  13. Not sure but I thought 91loyale was going to scavange a coupe clean from a salavage yard. I posted about the seals and could actually use a set for my silver coupe but send him a note, maybe he got them.
  14. just use a soap solution, take some dish soap and dilute it a bit with water.
  15. If the qtr glasses have the weatherstrip on them grab those too, and I'm talking about the movable qtr glass not the stationary one. and yea pull motor, last coupe I parted had the hydro motor.
  16. Long distance question? My kid back in S.D. has the t-coupe and is having problems. Says that it wants to die at 55mph, when we brought it out to her earlier it did it once or twice, but now it does it quite a bit. The "ecs" light comes on when it occurs. She says it stumbles and dies. Input?????
  17. these fit on the ea82 rear coilovers right? so doing the rear coilover swap with accord springs to an ea81 would be good?
  18. I'll actually be there, not sure if time will allow me to get to any of the events but hey I'll give it a shot.
  19. my T-Brat got around 16-20 variably, but I also went to work uphill both ways on a 55 mile commute. Take a look at the speedo, wheres the "red area"? set around 55mph I believe, this back when the national speed limit was 55:cool:. And thats where manufacturers created cars for optimum performance hence thats where your gonna get the best gas mileage.
  20. doing a 3" lift and using EA82 rear coilovers, do I still need to adjust mounting of shock down 3"? For some reason I thought I seen somewhere if you use those shocks all you have to do is adjust width of mount bolts and move outward to accomodate wider top portion?
  21. So the brat was makin a grinding noise, kinda like when axle splines get worn and stripped in hub. Axles are tight and so I searched, found that 4x linkage was where its at. It is acting as if not fully engaging back into 2wd when the grinding occurs. So been driving in 4wd which isn't a big issue but has any one else had this area go bad? Ive tried adjusting linkage and even diconnected and tried to manually move linkage to get locked in to 2wd. the linkage appears to be hitting or coming very close to to case bolt directly behind the arm and I cant get a full lock into 2wd, acts as a slipping clutch only lots of grinding. One question I had, is the arm that bolts to the shaft coming out of tranny cammed? or made to only fit one way? was wondering if maybe it may have turned a bit on shaft not allowing it to engage all the way?
  22. yea I'll be there tonight, and sat for sure but dont know about any extra time on sat, wife is making plans.
