great, I'm just happy to have scored a weber(hopefully more than one) for my growing stable of cars. It'll probably be a while before I actually put it on but I'm saving this thread for assistance for sure. Thanks -
EA81 Weber Install Q's ...

cool thanks, I was hopin that it would still work. The individual I got this from has others 1 is a 28/36 and there is a couple of others some with water chokes. I know that 32/36 is the popular one but would others work? I have more than 1 car that could use the advantage of a better carb system. -

can some one post a couple of nice close up pics? I just got a weber and would like to see the actual set ups, although the write up so far has been very good. One question mine is a 32/36 with electric choke but instead of a "DGAV" it's a "DFAV" what's the meaning and the difference? -

does this mod work on all turbo cars EA81/82 and so on? -
main difference between the two swaps

is there a benefit to using both or would it be more realistic to use motor only? I kinda like the AWD thing but I am not opposed to using an EA81/82 tranny, probably 5spd d/r. -
rod knock in the Brat.... ugh!

uh oh:eek: . well yea we've got a few spares. maybe its time to build one that'll last and wont leak all over the place. This is my brat he's talkin about. -

so what is the necessary modification needed if using both EJ motor and tranny? does crossmember work? is the axle issue as easy as switching the front DOJ's? what is the EJ gear ratio? is it 3.9 too? I just scored a complete drive train from an impreza and was thinkin the whole AWD thing would be cool seeing how I rarely offroad. Thinkin of one of my t-coupes maybe cause one has possible bad engine, haven't determined problem yet though. It would probably make for a sleeper car for sure:brow: . -
well remember that I want to use the EA82 coilover so I shouldn't need any length to the bracket as the coilovers are longer than stock EA81 shocks I just remember some one saying they had to use washers as spacers to push the shock out at the top because of the larger diameter of the coil over.
-
I'm leaning towards one of the wagons, my one brat I'm thinkin of keepin close to stock as possible( its the one Caboobaroo is borrowing and he calls it the "Cherry brat" ) the other brat is a turbo and rusty I dont think it will have enogh power to pull bigger tires or be sound enough to support a lift. Then the two coupes are both turbos as well but the silver one is almost perfect, plus they're both autos, so is the turbo brat. It seems to me like there are alot of wagons lifted out there and with good reason, they haul more people and things combined than any other car plus they just look good lifted. Guess I decided what to lift didn't I . But what about my ??? is 1" enough?
-
so is 1" square tubing sufficient enough to make the bracket for changing standard ea81 rear shocks to ea82 coil overs? I know that the piece needs to be longer in width to adjust for different bolt pattern but was curious if 1" is far enough away from inner wheel well to account for coil over shocks larger diameter?, this is a small deal but the last puzzle piece in my own fabricated 3" lift for my ea81 vehicle. I say that because I haven't decided which one to put it on yet. Some how in the last 3 months my stable has grown from 2 - 6 ea81 cars. 3 sets of twins 2 brats 2 t-coupes and more recently 2 wagons.

yea I haven't even picked up the car yet. gonna sign for it tonight hopefully, I was just wanting to get a game plan on it to minimize down time. I really want to drive this car as soon as possible. Debating knocking the turbo brat in the head for it and turning that into the "project" vehicle
-
well the guy said its spewing antifreeze and he has had the heads repaired once already, or head gaskets not sure so do ya think that it will even be repairable?
-
what is the usual culprit? I've heard that it cracks between the valves? is this a repairable area?

just bought GL-10, and I' m kinda worried

the every day life of a normal subaru fanatic:lol: . -
Okay, so I just got back from looking at the t-coupe. It will be mine soon enough! Silver with blue interior, 138,000 with what sounds like a cracked head. Very clean on the out side, minimal rust in the rear wheel wells and a few door dings, not bad for a 22 year old car. The car is straight and has everything, sunroof, pwr windows,4 spoke alloys, a/c, luggage rack, and they already modified center counsel with CD player, did a good job at that too. Tires are better than 50% and he said he just put in new axles last year. Probably only bad thing is digi dash is bad. Chime in anyone that has one to sell or trade, Andrew you still got that one from the parts wagon?? anyways it has the 3AT also which he said had no issues so thats cool, I dont mind the auto, at least my wife can drive it. This will be #4 in my stable of rides and the 3rd turbo!

No this was forward thinking on the T-coupe in the other thread I have. I'm going to look at it today and was trying to figure least costly way to get in drivable shape. I think if I get it I might just turn it into the project car .
