1987 RX.

Mods: TWE Header/DP and stright pipe 2.5" DP back. 'Intake' and an EBC. Otherwise its stock. (well, besides suspension work but that doesnt matter here)

Under stock boost, once WOT is applied and the turbo spools to max stock boost, EXACTLY 5 seconds later, either fuel and/or ignition cuts out for about 1/4 of a second. 5 seconds later, if im still in it (like a 5th gear pull or so) it does it again. 95% of the time its on this 5 second counter. Sometimes it wont do it until after 12 seconds...then VERY rarely will it just not do it. But it does, and its annoying.

The ECU was throwing the CEL for the TPS...ive fixed that and it works great now. ECU has no more codes.

The engine does do a weird bogging sometimes at LOW RPMs...from 1000 to 2500 somtimes...usually fixed by getting out of the gas and back on.

Ive replaced the MAF, there is no MAP on this engine from the factory, all emissions is working correctly, has an O2 sensor thats not too old (6 months max) and everything seems to be working. Its also got a known good ignition coil, new cap/rotor/wires/plugs/fuel filter.

Any ideas to why its cutting out like that?

how do you have teh ebc plumbed in? does it vent back into just after the maf?

other than that i would just say with the new exhaust and stuf it moves to much air in and out for the ecu to manage it

It did this before mods too. When it was stock it would do it.

my rx used to do that.. It was either the coil or the ignition timing..

i fcked with em both and now its fixed.. :)
