  1. Thats funny.. One day I wasnt paying attention and fired up my 87 turbo z with the subaru key.. I didnt notice anything till I turned left and my keys fell out into the floor... Talk about me doing a WTF??? It took a while to turn the car off, the nissan key wouldnt go in I finally stuck the subaru key back in and turned it off... Wont work the door though, but hell. Ive left it running a few times with the "new" trick But now theres only 2 keys that work it.. my z and subaru key
  2. safety first of course.. I know my buick seats came loose when i crashed...
  3. THanks for the info - i have an 88 model - im sure it would be completely different to install in my car .. Looks awesome, and I bet its comfy
  4. what yr impulse, and how was the install - just curious thanks
  5. hardcore subaru owners do that sort of thing I should know.. im hardcore like that.. in case you don't know, this is how you check the turbos hot side
  6. I dont want to hold on!!! my rx deserves a renewed steering feel, thats only available from high quality bushings - like the ones you have featured. just roughin ya up a little, Youz a busy man - so drop me a pm and you got a sale (unless something catastrophic happens)
  7. care to elaborate, sounds like an interesting discussion..
  8. the small crack in between the valves is normal, even with gen 3 heads.. ive seen several cracked with no performance degredation.. could you post a picture of it for further analysis
  9. i wonder what it would do if that cooked inside my turbo bearings..
  10. ok - so im not crazy!! I quit and put the pins back in after dissasembling the rotor and caliper all the way down to the stub / bearing.. i thought it would come out.. and all the time i just needed to pull a couple bolts.... Thanks a million people!!! bean
  11. I thought to change the rear cv axle, you just jack up the car, pop out the pins, get the splines un-stuck and compress the damn thing and remove... pins are out, splines are loose - it wont come out... dosent squish enough or im missing something.. your help is greatly apreciated
  12. then again, i didnt think changing the coolant hose on the turbo was that difficult
  13. thats not that difficult to change, it just LOOKS scary.. squat down and look real close.. youll see that a long needle nose plier is your best freind..
  14. that actually makes sense, and i think your correct.. and yes - the body is straight, i just need to find a way to get it home and replace the head gaskets.. (if its not sold)
  15. the full time RX box is a cool transmission... but its open center diff is pretty retarded when you get to high power levels... out of 10 launches... 4 will send all the power to the front 4 will send the power to the back, and a little in the front.. 2 will snap your neck.. this is all cured by turning the difflock on.. i just got mad at the affair and welded the damn center diff, took out the front axles - and enjoyed my LSD equipped RWD sedan...
  16. there are FT4wd if they have a diff lock, meaning its 4wd (open center diff) all the time.. when you lock it, its like REAL 4x4 .. and you can shift all day low or high.. just push the clutch in and the cars headgaskets are toast.. dunno if i want it! its even got the damn LSD.. parts car? or fix it.. worth 600?
  17. he said he would let it go cheap.. (799 window price) so maybe ill offer 400 or 500 dollars? I drove it, body is clean, its a champane / brown color with black trim.. seats are the same as my 88 rx sedan.. motor feels a little sluggish off boost (but not sick) but dosent miss and is REALLY smooth clutch is awesome gearbox feels great.. its got a LIL exhaust leak, the passenger window is stuck in a funny position (motor works) the ac is super cold.. but it runs hot.. I didnt let it go much higher, but gets close to the white line before the red dosent like to stay running when it got that hot.. my scoob does that too though.. I dont know if i wanna drive it home like that.. Ill double check the head gaskets tomorrow.. make sure the champagne isnt in the radiator (or the pan).. hopefully just another scoobie with a clogged radiator or a stuck thermostat.. I know its leaking water somewhere, I can hear it.. hope its not air leaking out I should fix it and not use it as a parts car I know that.. either way yall think i should buy it?
  18. Looks like an 87-89 coupe, but NOT an rx.. although its a turbo full time dual range with difflock.. What kind of car is it? is it worth anything?
