my rx does the same thing, but theres no cv axles in the front.. one of my INNER rear boots is torn.. on the left side i think.. only when i turn right, and when theres passengers in the back it does it too..

so - what are you gonna do with your TWE stuff?

my car is LIGHTLY modded and runs well past 6.5k with no issues, even on high boost, and im not experiancing this fuel cut everyone talks about... even at 14psi, i can run it to the floor all the way to 130 mph (14psi 6.5k rpms), and nothing ever happens

the idle control hose on my rx, ive had it plugged for a while, well - since i installed the intercooler, but now that its actually getting cold out here, i need it to idle up in the mornin, should i plumb this in before the turbo or after the turbo, i dont know if boost leaks back out of it from the intake manifold when its colder, as in stock form it was installed after the turbo.. thanks bean

I think thats strange that it has 79 hp, And i remember that drop off after 5.5k, it went away when i emptied the cats and got a high flow muffler

my rx had understeer before i started jacking around with it Its fixed now (read sig)

the bad driver mod caused me to beat a stock C5 vette in my modded impulse turbo.

First off, I just wanted thank the members of the USMB for your help, even though some of it was indirect (reading old threads) you guys still posted them, so thanks me and the lil sedan apreciate it I just thought it would be interesting to see where your cars came from. I bought my car with 155k on the clock, MINT condition except a small tear in the drivers seat, ICE cold a/c and a load of spare parts. I wasnt that inspired by the cars seemingly lethargic performance, its handling was nice, but tended to understeer. One day, im just driving through town at about 3am, no one around but me at this point.Along comes a guy with a bright red porsche 944 up to the light next to me.. Me being the smart rump roast i am decided to rev it up on em, he gave me the stranges look, and revved back.. I get her ready to launch in low range. So the light flips green and i pop the clutch at about 5500rpm and of course the clutch slipped a little bit, but it still spun the tires and left the porsche sitting there like he didnt try. So the at the next like, i look over and just smile, he asks me to race from a 40 roll, I decline knowing i would get walked from any race exept from a stop. But he asked me to pull over so he could check out my car.. We talked for a while, he looked over my car, and he made an offer i couldnt refuse. his red 83 porsche 944 (equal condition, broken a/c and 96k on the clock) for my RX.. I thought about it for about a week, and decided to do it. After trading the thing for because it was due for a clutch and front cv axles (easy repair compared to the porsches mind you..) 2 weeks went buy, i loved the porsche, the girls did too, but it just wasnt a scooby.. So the guy i traded called me and said he wanted to buy the porsche back from me but still keep the subaru.. Now, all of a sudden, it just hit me.. For the 1500 dollars he wanted to give me to buy the porsche back, I thought to myself, I CAN BUY ANOTHER SCOOBY!.. then i though, well - i HAD an awesome scooby. So i told him the only way he was getting the porsche back is if he gave me back my RX. So we traded back.. Then I got to work XT6 flywheel, clutch, pressure plate. then the intake and exhaust. Then the front axles finally chunked, so i pulled em out, locked the diff and went on my way. GOD, the car was just SO much fun, and really responded well to the mods it had recieved. and at this point it would definately walk that porsche from a roll.. Then i added the starion ic/ modified wrx scoop.. it made so much more power that it stripped the Center diff lock coupler, so i of course i pulled the tranny and welded the center diff, and let me tell you - It really runs, and after diving it around tonight, i ofter wonder what the hell i was thinking trading an rx like that.. What is it about a boxy white sedan that makes me so crazy.. lol

true, i got over 200k on a 1990 escort gt w/ a 1.9HO , just changed the timing belt and the oil and a couple alternators.. and everyone knows how reliable the pre mazda motored escort gt's are..

you have to destroy a set of front axles for the wheel side stubs, then you lock the center diff and go on your merry way.. I however trashed the lock coupler in the tranny and had to weld my differential.. Only do this if your in an area thats got good weather, as the car dosent get much traction at high power levels, even in the dry

theres a difference betweet switching to synthetic at 50k and 130k..

the gap thing never works.. just pull the motor - its a sinch

i have and rx, im not jealous, and i take threats of wings and spinner hub caps at a teroristic level.. its all good though, but remember - ill b watchin jo0

i was trying to be nice to my subaru and run mobil 1 in it.. it didnt like it and decided to consume 2 quarts in 3000 miles when it dosent use a drop of the castrol 10-40 its used to... this is on a 170k motor which runs beautiful

try keeping it about 1200rpm when you take off, youll wear out the rod bearings lugging the poor motor like that..

I cant beleive someone would do that.. for the 200 odd bucks he spent on that he could of gone to the junkyard and added about 30-40 hp to his car.. TSK TSK

neons are allowable on a NICE looking show car like styles has on an RX with a big wing = that would be horrible neons are illegal here, now the LED thing i intend on doing shortly, just for illumination purposes ie: domelight, maplights, footlights, hoodlight, trunklight.. the battery consumption is MINIMAL therfore if i leave something on it wont kill my battery so fast. P.s. i know its not DOT legal, but enough white led's behind a projector would make a hell of a headlight, with a nice HID look.. styles? wanna help me on this?

if you got lucky and recieved a properly assembled tranny.. I know this old dood with a wrx wagon, he seriously holds up traffic EVERYWHERE he goes and he lost his tranny
