well, obiously a larger turbo and more boost.. this starion i/c isnt going to work, im looking for an STI unit.. i cant let too much out at this point, but in due time everyone will understand..
-
nice work, could you post a pic of the "bumps" in the hood for me?. . that i/c is too small, doesent flow enough for my application.. And i dont want bumps in my hood (well, if they look ok) .. otherwise my car would be wearing a large FMIC.. when installed correctly, the TMIC is plenty effecient, and dosent soak as much heat as you think it would, considering that its over the transmission, not the motor

i wasnt using the ea81 as a referance.. thats totally different
-
your wrong, forced induction and stronger internals, well, nevermind - just watch and see.. the cranks are stronger than you think, the rods are also.. the weak link in theese motors are the pistons.. im talking about forced induction of course, n/a is a whole different story..

the vg30et in my nissan has 2 valve per cyl also, that didnt stop it from putting down over 200hp at the wheels NATURALLY ASPIRATED.. If i were to swap the pistons and get some cams and some boost through it, i dont think the 400rwhp mark would be hard to acheive at all.. same goes with my isuzu impulse. 2.0l displacement, sohc, 2valves per cyl. I havent been to the dyno yet, but at 16psi, im guessing its going to put down well over 250 dont let the lack of valves detour you... with proper "work" it can flow more than enough air to generate PLENTY of power.. with a built bottom end, lots of boost and proper tuning, i see NO reason why an ea82 couldnt generate 250+ hp

can someone take a pic for me.

do is see projectors in your future? -
i got my rx because it has a mix of many personalities its smooth, quiet and decent looking its also a terror in the mud (before rwd conversion), great ground clearance its reliable and with my mods its PLENTY fast it has 4 doors, and gets 24+ mpg and hell, its just a fun car

what's a crank angle sensor???
88rxsedan replied to Buddythedog's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i dont know why they call it that, but they do.. its the same on my nissan and isuzu also... and at least our crank pulleys dont get loose and break the keyway out of the front of the crank like the ej22... another thing, theres lots of itty bitty holes in a round metal disc, if something falls in there and "blocks" the light from going through one, the ecu will get confused.. you can clean them.. but if its running good, clear codes and see if it comes back.. you may have knocked some dust loose in there if you changed the ditzy cap -
AHHHH.. BODY WORK.. OH NO.. ill make it look good

not well for the spider manifold, for that you would want a WRX i/c.. I havent checked the width, and it dosent matter to me, as long as most of it gets covered with air.. now, the question is, will the wrx scoop fit between the humps in the manifold.. hmm, should of though of that before i bought the scoop
-
so yall thought i had this big rump roast i/c on the top of my motor.. lol ive seen the big i/c you speak of, volvo has one too.. HUGE
-
what do you mean, grind the little disc off.. im sorry for sounding daft, but im interested in lowering my car and wanna make sure i get all the parts so i can just do it and have it done. i can only wish my car will look 1/4 as good as yours does though
-
hehe.. oops, i yanked it off a saab something or another.. intercooler is for grabs BTW, it should help out the "stock" boosters a lil if someone wants it im going to fix my sig right now
-
the saab one is lil bitty i drove with the hood off and a lil scoop on it to test it, it went like a bat out of hell, but the i/c just got too hot and made it worse, so its been removed.. heres a pic of the old i/c i forgot to remove that from my sig when i realized it wouldnt work... heres the starion mounted and ready to go.. i know it dosent look like air will go through, but theres plenty of room underneath, and there will be plenty of pressure drop to get air through with the scoop. btw, i dont get any detonation on 93 and no i/c, it dosent spend much time at 14psi, you have to hold it down for a long time to get up there.. yet, still no fuel cut, and dog sick rich on my dinky a/f meter under any boost at all.. im going to set the boost at 12-13 lbs as this seems to be the limit of the turbocharger sorry for the confusion, i suck at updating.. lol what do you think?
-
just curious what to expect as far as power improvment.. I have the starion i/c installed, not plumbed while i wait on my scoop to get here.. just seeing if it really makes THAT big of a difference in power.. thankx
-
you need to try 4wd, or not spin your tires so much (just tryin to help) a 20 second time seems a little slow for your car.. My xt, with an auto, running on 3cyl ran 20.2's.. a 2.9 60ft shows that your just not getting moving
-
hehe, mine got loose and scared the f*ck out of me because it sounded like when you stretch a balloon... i got a very large socket (dont remember the size) and a long ratchet and a cheater pipe and stood my fat 220lb rump roast and jumped till it wouldnt tighten anymore, stuck the pin through and went on my merry way...
-
someone anyone?? .. its just a simple question
-
dont bash me.. but i have a simple / stupid question.. i found and xt6, im going to do the 5 lug swap to my RX.. now, ive converted my RX to RWD, so - i dont need the axles, or do I? i hate to trash a nice set of axles just to make stubs to hold the rotors on... how different are my stubs? , can i make it work? how come my calipers wont work? im poor and im trying to save as much money as possible...

Can the new style MAF be cleaned?
88rxsedan replied to greggbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i dunno, is your car surging and hesitating.. like, when it wants too.. and sometimes it goes? (Rarely?) i would advance the timing some.. it fixed mine.. smooth as silk.. -
is it a straightforward install, or custom parts required? info would be apreciated for my 4x4 scoob
-
if he sent an email to me saying "get a life" there would be no end to the amount of trouble he would have.. especially if i was trying to be nice and let him know he was WRONG.. key word.. WRONG..

i drove a lincoln mark VII with bad bags, it was not safe.. i almost lost control on a little bump at 30mph, and while stopping the car would not jump, but LEAP into the air
-
pop it out with a screwdriver, jump the pins and wha-la .. dash lights.. free fix
