  1. what about my 4 door rx ? rare enough? i need better photos, and RIMS...
  2. sounds like a fair price, but i need to call fred.. i need the inner tie rod.. the rod itself is bent where it connects to the outer tie rod.. i need to post pics, tough tough TOUGH little car:D
  3. i went to the junkyard today and grabbed the parts. oh man, what a pita.. i still need a pass side cv axle.. anyone?

  6. i still dont see what the problem is , it was quite simple from the top of the car...
  7. i dont know how much its worth.. cold ac 155k.. but how much for the control arm / ball joint / tension rod ?
  8. get the molded hose with the foil **** on it, wasnt that hard to change either, clamps were a biaach, but if you take the spare tire holder / strut bar / all heat sheilds out and reach WAY under there, tis not bad at all
  9. got a new tire, lsd works GREAT!! but now i have a new problem.. i got in a little wreck.. well, i didnt hit another car, i missed it, and understeered into a curb at about 15mph with the wheel all the way to the left, and the tires locked up... Now i need a lower control arm, a ball joint, and a tension rod.. prolly the tie rod, maybe the inner.. all the others are fine, exept passenger front. that rim and tire are ruined, ill be sure to post pics soon enough.. also, on a side note, if anyone has theese parts, let me know.. hell, im even considering selling it at this point.. its totally easily fixable, but this car was one project too many it saddens me too much
  10. i just realized that my car has 2 different sized tires on the rear, one stock 185/70 and one 175/70.. think it burnt my lsd out? last time i "tested it" it worked, but ... NO!!!!!
  11. to replace the water line on the bottom of the turbo?? that was not too bad at all, only took me about 40 mins..

  15. ok - a ricer in south texas definition / all the real racers definition.. ricer - someone who has a slow POS car, thats really loud and annoying, slow - has alot of non factory body kit / neons / stickers / spoilers ect... the person driving it is a ricer ricing is the act of adding all that junk onto the car... bean
  16. ha ha, my hood latch busted too... i laid down under the car, squeezed my big arm and hand up there, cutting my hand and arm on the a/c condenser, blood everywhere.. looked like a murder scene. but i got my finger in there, pulled it to the drivers side and POP... open hood... i used a piece of the old cable ran through and tied in a knot with the hood release handle hanging down from the bumper... everyone asks, whats that?? i tell em its my pull start.. looks like something from a briggs and stratton.. bean
  17. my 87 xt used to sound like it was about to come apart... id get so mad at its noise, id leave it in first (Damn auto) and rev it out as fast as it would go 7-7500 sometimes it would tap worse, sometimes it would stop.. i always tried to blow that car up, just cuz it was one of the $200 dollar needed a timing belt and a paint job car... the motor finally went the 4th time i hydrolocked it with muddy water in one day... damn south texas floods toughest car EVER

  19. if you feck up the screw, you can pull the dizzy, but be sure to turn the motor till the rotor points straight forward, mark the timing, and pull the ditzy and get that screw out (had to drill mine ) just be sure to put it back in the same way! and line up the bolts to your marks, and wha la! ..
  20. well, the disty knock comes and goes, but there is this other noise... its not the throwout bearing, because when i push the clutch in theres no change, im sure some of you remember this really faint "knocking" noise i was talking about... well, you can hear it in the car, but not under the hood, so after fiddling around with a plastic bottle as a stethiscope, it seemed to be coming from the pass side of the motor, near the turbo.. the turbos good, nice and tight, but i was thinking.. since i cant hear it under the hood, only in the car, and its VERY faint.. could the cat converter be kocking around on the inside? just a question.. someone else has to of had this problem. using my ghette stethescope, it seems to be heard the best on the downpipe, but i cant be sure, because knocks and pings resonate well through that aluminum block.
