November 29, 200421 yr Ok, i know that the rear disks from later turbos bolt on, but what about the fronts?? some ventilated disks sure would be nice! also, how about installing a rear sway bar from a later turbo?
November 29, 200421 yr Author Yes, i am sure. Did the ea81t's come with vent. fronts in the US?? our ones in new zealand didn't.
November 29, 200421 yr My 84 turbo wagon has vented front rotors. I think all EA81s had vented front rotors from 84 until subaru killed them. The EA81T cars had larger front bars than the rest of the EA81s as well as lower, stiffer suspensions so there isn't much upgrading to be had from that gen. The front bars from an EA82 may or may not fit, I have no idea, but someone with more experience might chime in.
November 30, 200421 yr IN 1984 Everything got vented fronts. You can swap vented front rotors from EA81's only, not EA82's. You'll need the rotor (of course) and the caliper. The Caliper should bolt to the existing knuckle. -Brian
November 30, 200421 yr You need the caliper bracket as well. As for model year clarification its 83 and later wagons and Brats that were 4wd and 84 and up all.
November 30, 200421 yr The caliper bracket is a part of the steering knuckle, and they should be the same. SHouldnt need to swap the knuckle. -Brian
November 30, 200421 yr they also fit on gen 1 cars as well! I did a complete swap on my '79 4wd wagon:D I made custom stabilizer bars to accomidate the EA81 control arms but the rotors and the calipers will bolt directly onto the stock EA71 knuckles
