November 29, 200421 yr I picked my brat up today. it drove with a wobble in the front drivers side tire, but after looking at it, the balancing weight was gone, so I changed tires and that fixed the problem. 135,000 miles on the ticker Anyways, the reason for this post is to get some ideas what to do with it. Heres what I have so far: 1. Ozified 4/3 lift 2. Yota rims with 27 inch or so rubber 3. 5 speed D/R EA82 tranny 4. possibly XT6 suspension (will this raise the back up at all?) How high do I have to lift it to get a nissan t-case under the car? I'm also looking for a source for the chrome trim along the bed. I'm gonna try to compete with Northguy for the nicest Brat in Alaska
November 29, 200421 yr I think Moosens has some bed trim, but he's missing the tailgate trim piece. I'll look for one if you need one. Why a 4/3 kit instead of a straight 3" kit? The back of a Brat can be raised a bit by adjusting the torsion bar in the back. If you need any parts, let me know. I'll see what I've got.
November 29, 200421 yr Author Cool thanks Matt soon as I get it registered, it will be coming down to anchorage
November 30, 200421 yr Sounds good. I believe you need a MINIMUM of 6" to get a transfer case underneath a brat, and 8" is even better. Other than that you're gonna have a sweet lookin brat. Congratulations.
November 30, 200421 yr If you get an Ozzified lift, bring it down and I'll help you put it in. I've got all the tools and a heated garage. And if you pull off the 5spd transfer, let me know and I'll employ you to do the swap on mine.
November 30, 200421 yr Author sounds like a good plan. I took it out today and went to the motocross track. took it through 4 to 5 foot whoops no problem. I love the approach angles on these cars.. awesome!
