whan the car starts whan its cold, only whan its cold, the first 20-30 sec, it like doesnt want to change gear from 1 to 2,or it start on 2 or 3 .

i need to leave the gas and press again and than its working fine.

after 20-30 sec....everything is normal.

just the first 20-30 sec i have this problem, why?

whats wrong?

i change already:

new gear, new vacum unit, new governer, new oil,new oil difrential, new radiator+pipes, all the vacum pipes.

what can it be this problem?

i went to the place that change me the gear and the one that work there didn't know what i'm talking about , so i fight with him and i don't want to go there anymore.

oil levels are in max, motor oil is LM 10w40 mos2.

if anyone can tell me what can it be, i'll be happy to hear, everyting.....

thank you all for your fast answer.

moshe

This may be due to a sticky or leaky valve in the transmission. You could try a transmission additive to see if that would help solve this problem. My 1988 Leone did this same thing when I first started it up in the morning but only for a few seconds. I never bothered to look into the problem and just waited for it to respond.

Have a very similar issue in an auto tranny in my son's 91 legacy. Leaky valve. We just let it warm up and then there's no problem.

so ...there is no wrong, nothing to do about it? it will stop by it self?

front seal on transmission sucking air until pressure builds when i took my auto out of the car the front seal was hard as a rock

mine did the same thing when it was cold until it puked all the fluid out

granted this was a 87 gl-10 turbo but same tranny as far as i know

I think Oddcomp was talking about the front shaft seal. This would have to be replaced to fix it.

how can i see this front seal? where is it?

thank you.

moshe.

yes i was talking bout he front shaft sealt .. ther are actually 2 one on the tranny and one on the tourqe converter

in order to see it you would have to pull the motor or the tranny out

easy to tell with out pulling look under car for tranny fluid right behind the engine oilpan sine thats where it will usually run to

but like eveything else i could be wrong

thats jus what my problem was when my tranny went poof
