86subaru
since i am from the older generation board, i have found a nice 1994 awd legacy L wagon a/t w/ 142,000mi .no rust, real clean, it needs a drivers side axle, and tires down the road, if i remember right these motors were good, , he is asking 2200 bucks is this a good price ? thanks
Legacy777
That's a little high I think, depending on the condition. See if he'll negotiate a little. Check KBB and see what these cars are going for in your area. Prices do vary from one geographical region to another.
rweddy
if i remember right these motors were good, Great motor, second only to the 2.2 turbo. One of the best motors subaru has ever made.

Adam N.D.J.
I just picked up a 92 L for 400 bucks, that including the cost of parts (had to put new headgaskets on it). I do have to say that having worked on this one right off, it is a lot easier to work on than I was thinking they would be, it's ease is comparable to an EA81, a lot easier than an EA82!!! It's a little more computer controlled, but the more advanced electronics are more simplier than the older ones. Hey, there are only two vacume lines!!! Leg93
I like to go to autotrader and do a search for similar vehicles in my area and see what the average asking price is. Then I expand the search to "any distance" to see what the national average is. You can bet that the sale price is a little lower than the asking prices on autotrader, but it would give you a good feel. Combine the info from NADA and KBB and you have a pretty good idea what a good price is. BTW, I have a '93 Legacy L 2WD with 160,000 on it that I am very happy with. I don't think you'll be disappointed, assuming it's not a lemon. Good luck!
coloradosubarules
If you are willing to make the trip I know where there is a 90 AWD Wagon L with the about the same milage for only $1,500.00 and I bet the guy would take 1,200 for it.
