December 14, 200421 yr Are there any companies out there that make shift kits for either a '90 legacy 2wd auto, or an '85 xt turbo auto. Any info or leads would be helpful, thanks. \m/att
December 14, 200421 yr http://www.transgo.com Good kit. Have one in my '92 Legacy Turbo Touring Wagon LE. Emily http://www.ccrengines.com
December 15, 200421 yr I highly doubt it on the 85. If anybody would know of a kit it would probably be Emily who just posted above. I have rode in 2 of the cars with the transgo kit in it and they are amazing.
December 15, 200421 yr The transgo one for the legacy is actually springs and assorted valve body parts.
December 15, 200421 yr for the 4EAT forget the shift kit - disconnect the shifting resistor mechanism..forget what it's called. this will quicken your shifts and they will be much crisper. it's bolted on the passengers side strut tower on the XT6. it's a 5 inch by 1 inch long rectangular silver part. just unplug it and drive.
December 15, 200421 yr here's the transmission resistor to unplug (as seen on an XT6). it's circled in yellow. Edited December 24, 20205 yr by idosubaru

I did it in my AWD XT6 and it shifted quicker/firmer. However, lifting off the gas pedal suddenly after spirited driving would make the rpms bounce up and down (Ex: 4200-2800-4000-2900-3900) until the car slowed. I don't know why it did this but it did. It felt the same as if you were driving a manual trannyied XT6, you'd hit the gas, then let off, the hit it a little lighter, then let off, etc. Only when I hooked the connection back up did it stop doing that. I haven't read about anyone else experiencing this yet it did it on both of my cars. :-\ I always get the weird cars. On another note, you guys may be able to adapt a Small Car Performance shift kit for the XT6 to your EA82 cars.
