hey all, just bought a 1984 DL wagon and love it. spent the Xmas holidays rebuilding a lot of the car and found that there is water in my tranny, unfortunatly none of the parts stores in my podunk mountain town know what it takes, any help? has the 1.8 L4 eng. and the 4 speed tranny. will try to get some pictures of the rust box posted.

Are you asking what viscosity fluid to put in?

I used the 70-90 synthic and it works great! shifts like a dream. worth every penny:headbang:

I am looking for the oil capacities (trans and transfer) and the weight. having a really hard time locating any info.

My '84 Owner's Manual says to use GL-5 rated gear oil in the 80W90 range. A 2wd manual tranny takes 2.6 quarts and a 4wd takes 3 quarts.

Oh, and a rear diff takes 1.7 PINTS of the same stuff.
