different rear disc question

Featured Replies

im pretty familure with the swap, im just wondering. if i can use xt6 rear brake calipers on my 4x ea81 hatch. i have backing plates, and discs from an ea82 turbo, but those calipers are shot.

is there a difference between rear xt6 calipers and ea82 rear calipers?

or will they interchange?

I assume, since you have to swap those parts for the 5 lug swap, that they are not the same and do not interchange.

hrm... so if i use my xt6 backing plates, and xt6 calipers, with a 4 lug disc/hub. that should work out then?

sweet. thanks alot. its cold as crap outside, and crawlin around under a slammed xt6 would suck today =]

I have a question to add to this thread! Are the XT6 FRONT calipers the same as those on a EA82(T) car?

no, they're more like legacy or impreza calipers with a front e-brake, which is why they're perfect for the 5 lug conversion. actual impreza or legacy calipers wouldn't have the e-brake in the front so you'd have more to modify. someone crossreferenced a bolt on rear caliper for the 4-lug subarus, it is a very recent thread if you search for the reference... i just swapped my xt6 rear brake stuff onto my wagon last weekend, hoping to get to breaking down the front end this sunday... good luck with yours

the rear is easy as hell, the front on the other hand... not sure if im gonna stick it on my ea81 just yet. i think it will need some welding.
