Not sure about the Outback hood, I'm pretty sure any 5MT tranny will fit from 90 to 97 at least. AWD is in the tranny, not the engine, so be sure you get an AWD tranny is all. Check in the Offroad Forum (on this same site) for lift kits for this car. I'd suspect there are more people there that know about that than here.

an outback hood from the year 95-99 will be the same design as your 95 legacy, you will see what I mean, secondly you want the outback hood for the hoodscoop dont you, cmon now be honest, you're among friends here.

You can go with a 5MT or 4EAT (auto) tranny. They did make AWD and FWD (front wheel drive only) trannys. No you can not turn a 2WD into a 4WD. I mean you could...if you can weld.

Yes, the hood will work.

 

I had to buy a new hood for my 95 and I wish i had gone the Outback route. If I were you, I'd check with aftermarket body parts suppliers. Factory replacement and salvage yard will be more than you want to pay. I bought a Taiwan hood that fits well and, hey, I figure foreign sheetmetal is foreign sheetmetal.
