Who has replaced pug lugs with aftermarket?

Featured Replies

Got a set of 15" pugs that need to go onto the RX. But I dont have the lugs. I could wait until tomorrow and get a set from the junkyard, but I want to put my tires on my car now. I was thinking of going to Autozone or Kragen to get a set of lugs that will work. Has anyone purchased aftermarket lugs that are proven to work with the pugs on our Subaru threads?

I have the Lugs Brian!! Sorry! I forgot to give them to ya when you were up here. I even have a "locking" lug nut for them.:brow:

Dont need the locking lug, just the standard pug Lugs. Bring them with you tomrrow. Im thinking of just robbing the ones off of my Lifted Wagon for now.

Has anyone tried this? I'd like to know anyway.

its not too tricky. you just need to find lugs with a "ball" seat. dont waste your time with the before mentioned big chain stores. they wont know what a Ball seat lugnut is. I think the thread size is 12mm by 1.25. I know they exist because I used to sell them to Vw guys along with studs to get rid of the stupid stock lug bolts. dont install taper seat lugs as they may loosen and come off.

90% sure - Honda CR-Vs (+ Elements, Pilots) have ball seat lugnuts in 12mm
