February 10, 200521 yr alright I did a search for the last 20 minutes and couldnt find anything to do with ea82 with legacy seats. I found the diagram for ea81 to legacy seats. Are the ea81 and 82 seats the same? or do I need to make different brackets then the ea81 diagram shows.. I got a really nice set of legacy seats at work that'd be real nice in my ride..
February 10, 200521 yr Given how hard of a time I had putting EA82 seats in my Brat... Yes EA81 and EA82 seats are different. I belive the adapter plates will not have to act to spread the seat rails quite as far apart on the legacy seats to match up to the floor of the EA82. Hell you may just need to adjust them for front/rear and nothing side to side.
February 10, 200521 yr Author thanks for the quick reply. That will make it a lil easier, but harder at the same time. gonna have to get the tape measure out and draw up some brackets. 3/4 inch wide 1/8 " thick flat bar should work eh? Anyone else try this with a ea82?
February 10, 200521 yr hmmm... I'm trying to get better seats for my legacy, was thinking about xt6 seats! does that mean someone would buy my legacy seats off me maybe, if they're that much better than ea8X seats?
February 11, 200521 yr i put legacy seats in my 86 wagon. its bunch of work, you cant just move this, adjust that. prepare to fab/weld some brackets and stuff. FYI, the inner/tranny hump holes will fit, but the outer mounts will be need to be fabbed. also, when you get the seats in, theyre a shade higher than the legacy seats so keep that in mind. the seats i used are bangin high end seats so the driver's has a lever to move it up/forward and back/down simultaniously (sic?). sweet:cool:
February 11, 200521 yr i have 2.5 RS seats in my justy. Anything is possible with a welder and some steel
February 11, 200521 yr Author gunslinger - do you have a template or anything for the brackets you made? It would save me a lot of time and hassle if I could just have the stuff made up at a machine shop
February 11, 200521 yr no i dont have templates. it was kind of a fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants install/fabrication. all i can say is if you have any good metal cutting/welding equipment, you can figure it all out. if you get rid of the rear window defroster tubes to the "B" pillars, you can get the hard mount out of the way. when/if i get to replace my digi cam i would get some pics on here for everyone to see the install. good seats though, way better than the old legacy's. good luck and let me know if i can be of any help. BTY i could make some brackets for you and make a little kit for you and ship it to you??? let me know. and ill figure out how much itll be. if you want to do it.
February 11, 200521 yr Author Yeah dude, that would probably be easier then me trying to figure it out myself. get me a cost and I'll see what I can do
