February 16, 200521 yr Where can I find the little damper for the factory boost gauge on that comes on a WRX? This is going on the boost gauge for my GL-10. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm kinda tired of my needle bouncing around and would prefer smooth operation instead. If anyone has any info on this, please let me know. Thank You in advance. February 17, 200521 yr Where did you plumb your line into? My Dad's WRX and my wagon both have autometer boost gauges and mine wiggles a little at maz boost, but I don't think his does.

I teed my vacuum line into the line that goes to the stock fuel pressure regulator. That is where I found the closest connection. My gauge works fine at idle and max boost, it's just all the in between that I get the stupid needle wiggle. I want it to work like the one in our WRX, which is very smooth in it's movement. I think I read about the damper thing on the NASIOC, so maybe I'll have to track it down on there.
February 17, 200521 yr Author Any 'orifice' connection will do. (thing with small hole in it) Well see that's just the thing. I have 2 of those in the vacuum line and they help some, but not the way I would like.

February 18, 200521 yr Like Ross says......... the damper that comes with a "test vacuum gage" is nothing more than a connector with a small hole in it (hole dia.~ 0.03" or a 1/32" drill bit) The vacuum tree just behind the throttle body is a good place to tap. Put the"T" you have in one of the lines off of this tree. Get a short piece of vacuum line.(~12") Get a line to line connector and epoxy it closed. Drill a 1/32 hole in the epoxy. Connect the new line to the boost gauge line with the modified connector. My bet is that is way too much work, you would rather just spend the money.
