February 17, 200521 yr If you have a set of Factory Shop Manuals for an 05 outback, Could you please look to see who is the publisher? Thank you.
February 17, 200521 yr Stevens Creek Subaru 3209 Stevens Crk Blvd San Jose , CA 95117 408-984-2001 Distance:2.52 miles Give em a call, i'm sure they'll oblige, it should be a local call too.
February 17, 200521 yr Author I asked the parts guy when I picked up the outback a couple of weeks ago. He had no clue. Stevens Creek Subaru is where I bought it from.
February 17, 200521 yr Try the service guy, they seem to try and make you happier than the parts guys
February 18, 200521 yr Author I tryed looking them up on the web with no luck. Seems Subaru has doen a great job of keeping their manuals off the internet, essentially cornering the market on their newer manuals.
February 18, 200521 yr <<I tryed looking them up on the web with no luck. February 18, 200521 yr The parts guy is pulling your chain, he should know what the part numbers are to these manuals and be able to look them up for you, sounds like he just doesn't want to take the time, or doesn't know where to look. There will probably be 8 separate books for the Factory Service Manual (FSM), prices will range from $25 to around $100, the whole set will cost around $500 (pure guess). I have a newer set, but there were a lot of changes in 2005, so some will be different.
February 20, 200521 yr Legacy777, Since http://techinfo.subaru.com limited the downloads to 20 PDF's per hour, it sucks to try to download 700-800 files to get the complete manual. I spent the entire subscription period running back and forth to the computer every hour downloading my 20 file limit. My feelings is they are driving folks to the pirated versions available versus legal acquisition. I downloaded two manuals prior to the hourly limit and was pleased, now with my recent experience, I doubt if I would put myself through that misery again. Again, my $.02.
February 20, 200521 yr <<My feelings is they are driving folks to the pirated versions available versus legal acquisition.>> just buy the service manual books then. the online manuals are for convenience.
