After gounding and honeycombing the intake....still not gone....still does it.

 

Arg....anyone got a spare early 87 turbo/MPFI ECU i could get for cheap/nothing/trade for parts?

 

And...anyone got any more ideas on what it could be?

5 seconds after I put the pedal to the metal....ignition and or fuel cuts off for literally 1/4 of a second then right back on.

hey will, hit me up this afternnon if you get a chance, i should be online around 3 ish, i have an ecu outta an 87 gl-10. i tried swapping it when the rx wouldnt start, but the ecu wasnt my problem, turned out to be a bad connection, thus i have a spare ecu. ill be online later.

Yeah, that DOES sound really annoying. Man I wish I knew what the heck was wrong with it. I'm sorry that I'm not of more help.

is it always exactly 5 seconds after WOT, then in 5 second increments after that?

 

If it is, it does almost sound like an ECU thing trying to limit what you're doing.

 

If it's erratic and has random time increments, then it sounds like a sensor or wiring, or something else happening, to my feeble mind at least...

 

 

Does it do it in any gear at any speed?

Its a regular thing.....It did it when it was 100% bone stock too.
