thats a very very cool baja bug man! Did you use the vw tranny? buy an adapter or make one yourself?

its got a VW bus tranny and i made the adapter myself, im hopeing to get the turbo mounted this weekend, then im putting a full roll cage  i got a really good deal on the engine, it came with a fresh turbo too!!

ive got a 99 civic rad mounted under those lights its kinda hard to see due to the angle im gonna try it out with a flexlite fan, hopefully it will be sufficiant but we'll have to see

That looks sweet. Got a side shot of it? Where about in BC are you from? Seems like there are more and more BC people here everyday.

About getting the turbo on the front side of the engine.

Now anybody correct me if I am wrong but could you get an XT turbo Manafold and turn it around 180 deg? I don't have one of those manifold in front of me so I am not sure if the ports will line up or not. On some of the newer EJ engines you can do this. Just brainstorming maybe it can be done with the XT manifold.

its easy to do without the spidy manifold, actually easier you just plumb the coolent/oil lines to the front, make a new header to the turbo and then to an intercooler then to the throttle body:cool: i live in kamloops bc by the way795701_3_full.jpg

Very nice guy, looking forward to more pics and any details you want to give us. I used to have a few old westie's and 1 split window van with the reduction hub, always dreamed of a turboed watercooled VW[mostly of a bus tho].

well ive got the turbo in a mock set up now, gotta finish the header

im in the process of making some new rear trailing arms that will allow for 18-20" of travel:grin: i dont think i can make new front ones so ill just buy some to get the same travel outta the front, i still have good old drum brakes, im gonna try and rig up some disk brakes out of a 280z if i can get all the pieces i need!

If you have the traction, you'll be popping wheelies....

Cool ride!!
