92 Bucks to check airbag light!

Featured Replies

The dealer wants $92 to check out my airbag light that is always on. Are there any other options, who reads these codes besides the dealer?

Do you have a state inspection or something like that? An airbag light being on can fail an inspection in certain states.

$92...what did the dealer say was wrong with the airbag? Why did the light get triggered?

My appt. at the dealer is tommorow so I don't know what the problem is. I do know that they want $92 just to do the diagnostics. I image the bill will escalate from there. I am considering cancelling but I want to fix what ever is wrong, I just don't want to pay dealer prices.

$92 just look at it? Will they deduct this "look at it" cost from the total bill, if you elect to have them fix it? Airbags could save your life, so I'd definately have it fixed...but I had a similar problem with another car of mine and the dealer didn't charge anything for them to figure out what was wrong with the airbag. I did have to pay for the repair.

Hi..99 Forester here...had a similar problem with my airbag warning light took it in and they read it as a code 11 in the system and replaced the roll conector..labour and parts 518.42 (canadian dolars)..
