August 29, 200322 yr order new intake-to-head bolts from the dealer. put anti-sieze on them before installation. Buy a tap and clean out the threads in the heads. try not to snap off any corroded bolts. and label all the things you disconnect.
August 29, 200322 yr Author I have had it unbolted recently to mess with the EGR passage. So I think it'll come off clean, good tip about the anti seize this time I have to disconnect/reconnect alot of unfamiliar stuff (intimitading) and swap the fresh carb i recently installed etc........ I'll keep ya posted & thx shanonsf
August 29, 200322 yr ALL NEW GASKETS! Kinda goes without saying, but just to make sure. You can get a sheet of gasket paper too and a nice exacto knife to make those hard to find gaskets. Not every Kragen and Napa has Carburator Gaskets for a EA81 hitachi. Also, gimme a call if you run into any problems. I will have all day tomorrow off (Friday). -Brian
August 29, 200322 yr And dont forget to double check your bolt torque after a thousand miles!!! Or you will end up like me and blow your intake manifold gaskets 2000 miles
