91 Legacy wagon 2.2L missing when started

1991 Legacy wagon 2.2L When I start it the thing starts missing like crazy, the check engine light comes on. After 5 or 10 minutes it quits adn runs great..Any ideas???

Do a search for codes and Legacy777. Should turn up what you need to do. You can do it without any tools!

Did you ever figure out what was wrong becasue my subaru is doing the same thing

I would think it must have something to do with I.A.C. being it runs fine after warming up.

Only missing when it is started? that sounds like a faulty temp sensor (the two wire one that feeds the ECU) giving false readings that say that the engine is already warm, when it is not. Just a wild guess though, without the codes in question.

More then likely the coolant temp sensor is bad. It's almost a tell-tale sign that the CTS is bad when the car runs bad when cold but ok when warmed up, or vice-versa.
