simbey1982
Some questions for you all 1. Doing a rear brake conversion. Do you need the entire spindle assembly and part of the suspension.....? 2. Will Shifter and Swaybar bushings for a WRX fit my GC8 97 impreza 3. Can anyone express the difficulty level for a transmission rebuild? 4. Looking to put in fold down seats in my 97 GC8 Body style impreza, will WRX or even legacy seat work....? Thanks all Cory
jamal
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/search.php? http://www.i-club.com/forums/search.php? http://subaru-online.com/ http://www.scoobymods.com/index.php 1. I assume you're putting WRX brakes on? Yes they'll fit, but they're the same size (or do you have drums?). There's a thread in the faq on the nasioc suspension forum about rear brakes. 2. The bushings vary by size. Mounts and endlinks work, bushings need to be the right size for the bar you're using. Don't know about the shifter or transmission. 4. I think so. People put WRX and GC seats in their Legacies, so I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around. Might require some slight modification, though. Legacy777
yes you need the spindle, or you have to press off the drum backing plates, and press on the disc backing plates.

Gnuman
In general a transmission rebuild is considered a high dificulty item. Are we talking about an auto or a manual transmission? Auto is harder than manual. generally cheaper (and easier) in the long run to replace the transmission. Shops that do a lot fo rebuilds on transmissions will have the special tools needed to do the job right.
