you need to allow for MORE THAN 7 MINUTES FOR A RESPONCE, only about 3 people have done the swap, so its still completely custom, those that have done it may be a bit stingy with the info until it becomes more widespread of a swap.

 

Swapping in a straight axle into a subie is at the level where you can either figure it out on your own or you shouldn't be trying at all. I'm sure you are the first one (you can figure it out on your own).

 

As far as particulars, i believe that Qman swapped his toy to a isuzu, so he can run rear discs.

Search won't find much of anything. There isn't much published on this as it is a fit and fair job. There isn't one precise way to do it. Basically, you have to slide the rear axle assy under the car and see where everything sits. Then, get creative on mounts. It will get tricky when trying to match front suspension height. Are you doing this in conjunction with a transfer case mod? You will need to experiment with blocks and plates to find the right combination to get the height right. Sorry, I can't be much more helpful but it is a one off mod.

three foot piece of 4x2 steel, on each side, with metal connecting them across the car. then mount leaf springs to the long steel pieces.

 

use the original holes in the car from the old suspension, and the diff hanger, and the part that you connect to the front lift blocks, that holds your tcase...

 

all seems pretty straight forward. whip out the welder, drill press, and chop saw! rage it!
