May 5, 200520 yr anyone have a favorite brand of brake dust cleaner for alloy wheels? the pugs have it pretty bad, dont know if the guy ever cleaned them, so i guess i need a real heavy duty brake dust(baked on crud) cleaner and i guess just rags or a toothbrush?
May 5, 200520 yr at the ford dealer we would use a kind of acid and you would just spray it on and let it sit and hose it off. worked on even the worst wheels. didnt harm the clear coat either. im sorry i cant remember what it was called, it was bought in bulk.
May 6, 200520 yr dont use compressed air as some brake pad use aspestos. Not good for your lungs:rolleyes:.
May 7, 200520 yr The best stuff I found that you can get at a local autoparts store or Wally World is made by Armor All. Its called Quicksilver I believe. Just spray it on, let it sit for 30 seconds and then hose off, no touching needed. Only problem is keep it away from auto paint since I had some spill on the hood of my dad's '82 BMW and it took the clear right off in about an hour and stained the paint...
