Lifted wagon left me on the side of the road today! ARG

Featured Replies

was only about 1/4 mile from my house though, lol.. started coughing, sputtering, then it would die.. would start back up, run for about 5 feet and die.. then it finally just wouldn't start at all..

so i changed the fuel filter (2nd time in 2 tanks of gas) still no go. so i swapped out the fuel pump. still no go.. bad part was, you could crank it and if you pumped the hell outa it it would try to start.. so i was thin king fuel related.. but i was gettin plenty of fuel..

then i swapped out the MSD blaster coil with a stock one.. fired right up, and carried my happy arse home..

this is the first subie i have ever had that left me on the side of the road like that.. was a little dissapointed. lol..

I'm sorry to hear that! Especially since you had a MSD and not an Accel go bad. I carry a stock coil in my tool box for the day this happens to me.

i feel your pain,my old 92 legacy did the same.it was partly, mostly my fault though.several weeks before i had changed out the plugs for a set of bosch plat plus four.i guess during install,i crossed the threads on one of the plugs.

while going to a friends house one day all of a sudden it started to sputter along with this weird noise from the engine.i managed to pull off onto a side road.opened up the hood to take a look an it turned out that i blew out a plug.turns out it was the one that i crossed.needless to say i had to have her towed home cause she didn't want to run very good with 3 plugs in.had the plug hole fixed with a heli-coil kit.course it took a couple days cause one-i never had to do it an two-had to wait for a guy from the dealership to come by(a friend of a friend of mine that works at a subie dealer)
