injector question (ea82t transplant)

Recommended Posts

hey guys just wondering if it is allright to wire the fuel injectors right up to the ecu. so on the injector one wire is direct or switched? 12v and the other would run straight to the ecu. im having some big issues with a transplant and am going crazy. thanks in advance!

well lets do the math

this is DC 'trisity although the impedance of the injectors is

quoted by sources as they are fed an alternating voltage pulse

and they are coils aka inductors

the resistor is 6 ohm the injector is 3 ohm = 9 ohm

wattage (i.e. power DC) = V x I and

I= V / R ala ohm law

so

W = V to the two / R = 14 x 14 / 9 = ~ 22 watts

where does that take us ?

To the Rat Shack?

I'm thinking that that last calculation is a little off. The 22 watts is the total power dissipation for injector and dropping resistor. The dropping resistor itself would dissipate approx 14.75W.

Still same conclusion, just slightly lower requirements. Mouser Electronics, Jameco, and a few other electronics houses are also good places to look. Or just grab a resistor pack off of another vehicle... I think Nissan used a similar rating.
